RENFE offers a 30% discount (in the flexible rate) on its trains to València to all attendees to the XLIV Regional Studies Meeting, Congress of the Spanish Association of Regional Science.

To benefit from the discount, you must send an e-mail to info@aecr.org  indicating your name and surname and we will send you the discount bonus as soon as possible.

Tickets on national routes of Return and / or Return with origin and destination to València with a 30% discount. Travel period between 19 and 25 November 2018.

Only those registered to the Congress can benefit from this discount.

How to get the discount?

In case of purchasing the ticket in a Travel Agency or in a point of sale of Renfe, you must present the discount voucher we will send you once we receive your email

If you purchase the ticket online (www.renfe.com), you must enter the Authorization number (which you will receive by e-mail) at the time of purchase.

València is well connected to other Spanish and European cities.

CAR

The car is a good choice to arrive at València since there exist an extensive road network that includes a good number of highways.

The main accesses to València are:

• Access from Madrid/centre of Spain: A-3.
• Access from Barcelona/northeast of Spain: A-7 (this route includes tolls).
• Access from the north of Spain: A-23.
• Access from the south/southwest of Spain: A-7 to access to the coast and A-35 to access from Albacete.

PLANE

Manises Airport (located 8 km from València city) is regularly connected to other Spanish and European cities. The main airlines that operate are Air Nostrum (franchise of Iberia airline), Vueling and Ryanair, all of them based in the airport itself.

The main national destinations are the airports of Madrid-Barajas, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona-El Prat and Seville. Specifically:

Air Nostrum

• National: Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca, Seville, Malaga, Bilbao, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
• International: Paris, London, Italy and Holland.

Ryanair

• National: Ibiza, Palma, Santiago, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Menorca.
• International: Turin, Bologna, Milan, Pisa, Rome, Trieste, Venice, Bari, Brussels, Paris, Craiova, Porto, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt, London, East Midlands, Manchester, Dublin, Malta, Warsaw.

Vueling

• National: La Coruña, Bilbao, Ibiza, Mallorca, Seville and Malaga.
• International: Brussels, Amsterdam, Rome, Alger.

Other airlines that offer their services at Manises airport are: Air Berlin, Air France, Alitalia, British Airways, Iberia Express, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines.

There is a good connexion between the airport connected and the city of València and its metropolitan area through both public (taxi, bus and underground) and private transport (rental car). The underground lines that have station at the airport are 3 and 5, which are connected directly to the train station (RENFE), and the AVE station by transfer.

There are other nearby airports to take into account, such as the Alicante airport (it is only 2 hours from València) and the Castellón airport (only 1 hour from València).

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

1. Underground (Metrovalencia). As it has been said above, there is an underground station at Manises airport which is linked to lines 3 and 5. In addition, the underground network connects the different points of the city continuously. 2. Bus (EMT). The urban bus network is another good option to move around the city, with a wide range of stations and schedules. You can find information about bus stops, network maps, schedules and rates at the following web page: https://www.emtvalencia.es/ciudadano/index.php?lang=en
3. Train (RENFE). There is also a railway network that connects several municipalities of the metropolitan area with the city. In addition, València has an AVE station, which allows quick connection with other cities in the national geography.
   1. North Station (commuter trains). It is composed of six lines that connect València with Gandía, Mogente, Utiel, Xirivella, Caudiel and Castellón de la Plana. The North Station has the following connections: Metrovalencia: Xàtiva Station (lines 3 and 5). Bus: lines 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 19, 35, 40 and 63 (station near to Plaza del Ayuntamiento). Taxi: taxi statin (Radio Taxi Valencia and Tele Taxi Valencia). It is located on the side of the station, near to the track 6. Telephones: +34 963 703 333 and +34 963 571 313
   2. Joaquín Sorolla Station (AVE). Connect the city with Madrid, Cuenca and Albacete, with a frequency of 17 daily trains, with a mean duration of one and a half hour. In addition, the Alvia and Euromed (long distance trains) connect València with the main Spanish cities. The Joaquín Sorolla station has the following connections: Shuttle bus: free with your train ticket, connecting the AVE station with the North Station. Underground: Jesus Station (lines 1 and 5). Bus: Lines 9, 10, 27 (San Vicente Mártir station), 89 and 90 (station at Avenida Giorgeta). Taxi: taxi station at the AVE station exit.

Advice:
